WO MAJDOOR

I am in the construction industry. This is the place where you can find the real face of Life and the truth about the so called Government’s claim of alleviation of Poverty level in India. The life of the labour is not an easy one. Every day dig the well to drink the water. Accidents and deaths are their allies, unavoidable part of their life. Death even doesn’t stop their work, they gather for a while, do not have even right to mourn at the death of their allies or family more than few hours and then get back to their work…..Their children having emptiness in their eyes and life without a definite future.

But still I find them the most happy person. They celebrate their life each day, bringing tea in small polythene bag and sipping the cup of tea in group is a feast for them. They laugh, they chat, they crack jokes, they really enjoy the smallest thing of our life as the biggest joy of their life. We forget to celebrate the festivals in the hustle and bustle of our professional life and they… they live the each moment celebrating it…..

I really salute their spirit to live life fullest even in adversity and penury. My this poem takes a plunge in their never die spirit:

WO- MAJDOOR

Can’t we celebrate each moment of our life… enjoying all the ups and down without losing hope and heart……..I think we can, if we all try…..
